One of the things we all remember during the holidays were those repeats of the stop-motion animated version of Ruldolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.  One of the other specials (Ruldolph’s Shiny New Year) dealt with Ruldolph trying to find baby New Year who happened to have hilariously big ears, so I included them as well.

 

Father Time’s beard was modeled after the same character from the Kids WB! animated history show “Histeria!”, although the character never carried a scythe.  I wanted to draw the two of them passing each other on a road or the side of a highway with Father Time wishing baby New Year better luck with New York than he had, but again, time constraints and the submission of a column were beading down on me, so a lot of that fell by the wayside.  New Year’s “To Do” list of having one sports championship can finally be seen now as well.
