Derrick Ward’s Christmas Rush

Well the Giants have home field advantage in the playoffs after beating Carolina for the No. 1 seed 34-28 in overtime. Personally I think the play of the night was that backup running back Derrick Ward breaking straight up the middle through the Carolina defense for a 51-yard gain in overtime (3:30 mark of the video), but he had two more rushes of 14 and 17-yards that lead to the winning touchdown, and a career night of 215-yards rushing.  So in honor of those plays, here’s the cartoon.

A very close second is my belief that the ghost of Wellington Mara blew that 50-yard field goal from Carolina kicker John Kasay with just seconds left to spare in regulation wide of the goal posts.  Hmmm... maybe I’ll have to work on that cartoon as well.
