Unbelievable.  The first World Series game ever to be suspended due to rain.  I know that Selig doesn’t want the Series to end with a rain-shortened deciding game, but if the forecast was that dire, why was the game even started in the first place?  Of course, this pushes the schedule back two days, so that Game 5 will be played on the day originally scheduled for Game 6 down in Tampa!  I guess those tickets will be collector’s items if the Rays can actually get it back to Florida.

 

I went with a brick facade here at first under the “World Series Game 5” sign, but the mortar around the bricks played havoc with how my signature and the date looked so I went with the solid color instead.

 

The Phanatic’s “beak” was the biggest challenge of all in the drawing, because if you look straight at him, it’s all a bunch of circles - the mouth, the fur around it, and the eyes - it just looked too strange so I ended up “bending” it into a kind of depressed mood because of the rain.  The rain itself was done on a separate layer (no way was I going to draw all those individual raindrops then edit them one by one in Photoshop).  Considering this is the first time I’ve done precipitation, I agonized over the width as I didn’t want to make the drops wider and end up with “chubby rain” as well as the color (dark blue, light blue, black?).
