To me, this cartoon simply epitomizes the entire attitude the Yankees take year after year. You win the World Series, great. You spend a little time reveling in it, embracing the trophy, fine. But then next year comes and it’s on to the next one! So as the 2010 season begins, I know that the Yanks will pay tribute to the championship they just won and that’s great, but please, it’s time to move on. After all, it’s 2010 and 2009 was so last year.
My biggest decision in post-production was the background colors. Originally I had green, yellow, blue and red clockwise from the upper left. Then I tried brown in the lower left, then brown and light brown left-to-right on the bottom, but all that didn’t really work for me, so I went with the checkerboard blue/ light blue.
