Well, the King is dead... LeBron James and the Cavaliers are eliminated from the NBA Playoffs, ousted by - of all teams - the Orlando Magic. Who would have thought that after James’ three at the buzzer in Game 2? Anyway, King James disappeared in a huff - or should I say a puff of smoke? (more on that in a minute) - not even talking to any of the media afterwards, and was soundly criticized for it.
Back to the puff of smoke - I originally had the idea of the Magic’s mascot “Stuff” using a magic wand to make LeBron disappear in a puff of smoke, leaving only a crown (maybe you’ll see that someday), but I found myself thinking - this guy’s a dragon right? So why don’t I use that old fire-breath of his? Needless to say it was by far the more ambitious project, being a comic-strip and separating all the various elements from the original drawing, making the court, etc. but I’m extremely pleased with the results, especially the last-minute burn-marks I added.
