How else would an octopus play hockey?  I think you could see the possibility coming, but it was still fun to draw, especially the penguins here, which I think are some of my best ones thus far.  The expressions are perfect, and you can just tell that if the first penguin survives, he’s going to have it in for the one refereeing the game.  Of course, if real life is any indication it might not be the case as Detroit won to go up on Pittsburgh two-games-to-zero.

 

The water bottle idea came about because goalies usually have them on the top of the goal behind them, and I wanted to draw something other than another hockey stick, something that you might not expect and seem a bit funny after seeing seven other sticks and then going - wait! what’s that? a water bottle? ^_^
