Despite Brett Favre’s best efforts, the Lions achieved the level of infamy the Patriots coveted, but in the exact opposite way. Detroit was perrrrfect (sorry, lame cat joke) this year, losing every single contest on the gridiron, something no other NFL team has ever done. And here we all thought nothing could ever top what the Dolphins did last year, ending up 1-15.
This of course is the same lion as the Playbookgate cartoon, but a little more mangy, tired, and just worn-out. Drawing a yawning lion was just a matter of skewing the jaw and mouth so it was wider on the bottom than on the top. One of the finishing touches to him was the frazzled tail. I wanted the background out of focus, so I opted to draw all of that with the brushes in Photoshop. I also hope all of you caught “The Lion King” references with him lying on the rock outcropping.
