4-Gone Conclusion
Another collapse from a New York team ending with “-ets.” Remember back when everybody was hoping for a Giants-Jets Superbowl? You do hope, but it’s that kind of thing I never want to even whisper because it’s so precious, so delicate, even the softest breeze can extinguish a notion like that. I’d definitely love to see it in my lifetime, but it’s not going to be this year.
And I have to say, “Pennington’s Revenge” is perfect, leading the Dolphins back from last year’s 1-15 to the playoffs and doing it against his former team. Of course, the Jets loss means another loss - or should I say ousting - of the ex-Mangenius named Eric, and the QB named Favre who will presumably retire. And what better place to say goodbye than at the (presumably Newark) airport? They are the Jets after all, ha ha.
Mangini’s changed slightly and I’ve made him a bit shorter (I think his legs hanging over the edge of the couch is hilarious) and gave Favre his normal unshaven look. Another idea I had as a play on the Man-genius nickname was to simply have Mangini hauled off in a straight jacket (mad-genius, see?), but I couldn’t work Favre into it to my satisfaction. Plus, I had already done that with Isiah Thomas.
