Does Any of This Make Sense?

Hal Steinbrenner is starting to sound like his father George, telling his skipper Joe Girardi that if he fails to make the playoffs, he’s going to be joining all the millions of other unemployed people in this country.  What’s puzzling is that  while Girardi’s job is now questionable, the Mets have said that Omar Minaya and Charlie Manuel’s positions are secure as little as two weeks ago.

Now, there cannot exist more disparagement between these two teams and the two actions listed above.  One team is leading its division, and the manager’s job is not secure while across town another team is flailing about helplessly, falling into the basement and you’re not going to get rid of the guy who has to squeeze something out of the injury ward or the guy who put the team together in the first place?  Only in New York.

The cartoon’s pretty self-explanatory, I did the grassy background in the computer, I’m not too happy with my straight lines.  First appearance from Girardi in a while, he still has that perplexed look on his face.
