The first real sports cartoon I ever drew, and which got me the job as an illustrator.  It started out as just a gag between myself and a few of the SNY editors, as I circulated the cartoon via e-mail.  I had wondered after the Yankees were eliminated by the Tigers and the Mets went on to Game 7 of the NLCS, wouldn’t it be funny if a Yankee guy was waiting for his Met counterpart since the latter never had any expectations of making it to October in recent years?
