2009 Subway Series - Round Two: Citi Bound

Well as the second round of the 2009 Subway Series moves to Citi Field (I’m caught between still referring to Shea, “New Ebbets” and TARP Field) and considering all the Mets are doing to lose practically every game, I definitely think this will be no contest for the Yankees to overcome, hence the Met crash and accordion crumple.

One of my more complicated cartoons, I’m caught between doing more work in post-production (Photoshop) or pre (sketching/ inking).  It’s far easier to get a straight line in the computer than with a ruler, but I don’t like all the results.  Case in point - the subway tracks.  The lines just didn’t look right so I used a photograph, adding the structural support beams located inbetween the tracks at many stations for authenticity as well as the (now discontinued and retired) “red bird” Queens car for the Mets Express while the Yankee train has a newer blue-metal hue typical of the Lexington Ave. line.
