Explain it anyway you want.  The extra week off, the fact they were no longer the “road warriors” of last season, or the way they almost limped into the playoffs.  The game was close for so long until the Eagles broke it open.  I just really wanted the beginning of another New York dynasty here.  Maybe they shouldn’t have barred Plaxico for the season, I don’t know.  It’s just so disappointing.

 

I had several ideas if the worst happened, one with the Eagle “strong-arming” Eli above, and the one below, appropriately titled “Eli Egged.”  Had the Giants won, I had the idea of a plucked or baked bird in front of Manning, but I suppose it will be saved for another day.

 

I actually did something I never do - I traced Eli from my previous drawings to ensure that they would be of the same series.  I simply didn’t want to take the chance that one drawing might be larger or wider than the previous ones.  I thought about simply doing them via layers in Photoshop, but the eagle clasping his arm and the egg yolk proved to be too complicated.
