A-Piece of A-Roid

I guess the “A-Bomb from A-Rod” saying is appropriate seeing as how it’s been just one Yankee bombshell after another.  First Joe Torre dishes the dirt on what went on in the clubhouse, and now Alex Rodriguez admits he used steroids.  Every five minutes his nicknames keep changing; it’s gone from A-Rod to A-Fraud to A-Roid.

That first at-bat at the new Stadium is going to be something to see.  Maybe the Yankees are thankful that they’re playing a couple of exhibition games there before Opening Day and the fans will all get their boos and catcalls in before the games start to count.  Then again, they might not.

Seeing as how Alex keeps getting into controversy after controversy - a Lightning-Rod (see what I did?) - I took it from his perspective as being tired and hunched over, suffering the slings and arrows of the fans, Torre’s knife (or at least that’s how the media played it) and of course, a very big syringe.  I also think this is my best Alex yet, especially with the eye-black.

Also, whenever I look at this cartoon I keep hearing Patrick Warburton’s Joe Swanson character from Family Guy coming from Jose Conseco, who truly is Vindicated after naming Alex as a user a while ago.
