I really can’t think of a more appropriate saying as the Twins make the most of a season-long race between themselves and Detroit for the AL Central crown, and force a one-game playoff in Minnesota.

 

My original idea had a Twin  player and the tiger laying flat as if the player had lept in a last ditch effort, and the tiger digging his claws into the ground, peeling up pieces of the ground just short of a finish line.  Wanting to use the “twin” imagery, I had to include the new M & M boys, Morneau and Mauer, but I couldn’t draw them horizontally.

 

I really just love the look of the Twins’ alternate home uniforms, so I decided to use it in this cartoon.
