What else do you want me to say except... It’s goooooood!!! (Throws hands up in field goal pose). New York City - or to be more precise, New Jersey, i.e. the Meadowlands - gets Superbowl XLVIII (48 to those who didn’t take Roman numerals), the first outdoor Superbowl in the North in God knows how many years, where yes, it can snow in February - read: Icebowl - and where hopefully now that the game’s location is official, both the Jets and Giants can face off in a (subway? NJ Transit?) Superbowl that will rock the Big Apple, yet probably be largely ignored almost everywhere else judging from the ratings from the 2000 World Series.
I wanted to go for just the “look” of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty, just enough to evoke the imagery rather than drawing all the buildings more precisely. Sure, I have a couple landmarks included, such at the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building and the Woolworth building, just to help you out - they’re iconic buildings after all. I’m also quite pleased with the look of New York harbor, especially the sheen and reflections off the water.
